Posting and Planning as a Team

Posts you create while switched to a team are tied to that team. A post has one of two identities, which decides whose post it appears as.

Post identity

When you create a post while switched to a team, an identity selector appears at the top of the editor.

Identity	Description
Post as a member	Shared within the team as your own post. Cards show your name with a badge of the team you belong to
Post as the team	Published publicly as a team post. Cards show the team’s name and icon, and the individual author is not shown

Posting as the team is available only in Community teams, and only to the owner or members with the “Team-named posts” permission. Otherwise the post is always “Post as a member” and no selector is shown.

Posts in Private teams are never visible outside the team, regardless of identity.

A post’s team is fixed when it is created and cannot be changed to a personal post later.

Choosing the right identity

“Post as the team” suits posts that speak for the team.

• Announcing team activities, such as reports and notices for group rides and meetups
• Introducing the team’s purpose to attract new members
• For businesses, sharing shop news or announcing cycling and motorcycle events

“Post as a member” suits sharing each member’s own experiences.

• Memories and photos from rides with your teammates
• Posts along the team’s theme — for example, in a team for sharing recommended cycling roads, each member posts their favorite routes

While switched to a team, the home timeline tabs become “Recommended” and a tab for your team. The team tab shows team-named posts and member posts together.

Team-named posts are displayed under the team’s name on the detail screen as well.

Nice, save, and comments as team activity

While switched to a team, Nice, save, and comments count as the team’s activity.

• Save … Available to all members. Saved posts go to the team’s “Saved Items” — handy for collecting routes to ride together
• Nice and comments on posts outside the team … Available in Community teams, to the owner or members with the “Team-named posts” permission. The comment form shows a notice that you are commenting as the team
• Actions on your own team’s posts … Available to all members and recorded under your personal name

Sharing touring plans with the team

Touring plans created while switched to a team are visible to all team members. Open the list from “Touring Plans” on the team home.

• Plans are always shared under the name of the member who created them
• Only the creator can edit a plan or copy its sharing link
• All members can view plans and copy their geographic info into posts
