What You Can Do with Teams

Teams are a group feature for enjoying RouteShare together with your fellow riders. Create a team, gather members, and you can share ride records, discuss touring plans, and chat in a dedicated team chat.

Team types

There are two types of teams. You choose one when creating a team and can change it later.

Type	Description
Community	A publicly listed team. Anyone can view team and member posts, and the team can accept join requests to grow its members
Private	A closed team for a limited group of members. It is invite-only, and nothing — team info, team posts, or member posts — is visible from outside

Example uses

Community teams work well for gathering riders who share a common goal.

• Building a community, like a club or interest group, where people with the same hobby or goal come together
• Recruiting members for your own cycling or motorcycle team
• For businesses, introducing your shop or serving as a meeting place for cycling and motorcycle events

Private teams work well when you want to keep things within a close circle of friends. Plan tours and share ride records without anything being visible from outside.

Checking your teams

The “My teams” section on your account page lists the teams you belong to. From here you can also “Create a team” or “Find a team”.

Switching between user and team

Once you belong to a team, you can switch between your account and your teams from the avatar at the top right of the header. Tap the avatar to open a list of “Users” and “Team”, then choose who to act as.

While switched to a team, the header avatar changes to the team’s icon with your own avatar overlaid at the corner. In this state, posting, commenting, and saving are treated as the team’s activity. See Posting and Planning as a Team for details.

The team home screen

Open the home screen while switched to a team and you will see a dedicated team home.

• Team name, type, member count, and description
• Buttons for “Team Chat” and “Saved Items”
• Notifications addressed to the team
• Lists of touring plans, uploaded files, created content, and more
• The member list and the team’s posts

Owners also see “Edit Profile” and “Team Management” buttons.

The team’s public profile

Community teams have a public profile that users outside the team can view. It shows the team name, description, member count, and the team’s posts.
